Virgin Atlantic, founded in 1984, is a British airline with its headquarters in Crawley, England. Virgin Atlantic has a fleet size of 45 aircraft and serves more than 30 destinations. Its operating bases are Gatwick Airport, Heathrow Airport, and Manchester Airport. It was established by the name of British Atlantic Airways. However, the name was changed to Virgin Atlantic on 22 June 1984. During its initial days, it was primarily used for flying between London and Falkland Islands. Carry-ons
Travelers with Upper Class Virgin Atlantic flight tickets are allowed to take up to 2 pieces of hand baggage, with one bag not exceeding 16 lb., and a maximum combined weight of 35 lb. Passengers traveling in Economy and Premium Cabins can take one piece of hang baggage weighing not more than 22 lb. The maximum size allowed for carry-ons is 9 X 14 X 22 inches.
Checked Baggage
Travelers with Economy Classic and Delight tickets can have 1 checked baggage, maximum weight permitted of which is 50 lb. Passengers traveling with Premium tickets can check-in two pieces of baggage, with each not weighing more than 50 lb. Whereas, passengers traveling in the Upper Class can also check-in two pieces of baggage, with each not weighing more than 70 lb. The maximum linear dimension allowed for a checked baggage is 35 X 29 X 16 inches.
